Box Score 2 It was an impressive opening weekend for the women's soccer program, especially for a pair of rookies as
Ainsleigh Sedore (Barrie/) and
Danielle Erb (Waterdown/) netted all three of Waterloo's weekend goals in a pair of draws with McMaster and Brock.
On Saturday, Sedore opened the scoring in the 28th minute while Erb scored in the 68th as the black and gold earned a hard fought 2-2 tie against the Marauders. In net,
Madison McDonald (Kitchener/) was solid making five saves.
On Sunday, Erb again found twine giving Waterloo a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute. Waterloo maintained their lead into the second half until Brock's Melanie Schouten found the equalizer in the 62nd minute. McDonald stood her ground in net the rest of the way as Waterloo went on to earn their second straight tie, 1-1 with the Badgers.
Waterloo will head up north to Sault Ste. Marie to take on Algoma in a pair of matches next weekend before returning home to Warrior Field on Sept. 10 for a battle with Laurier.
