The Warriors went 0-1-1 against tough competition this weekend.  On Saturday afternoon in Toronto, the Warriors battled the York Lions to a 0-0 draw, the second time the teams have tied in as many weeks.  Kendra Wynter (Oakville/) and Natalia Villegas (Kitchener/) each had two shots on target while Madison McDonald (Kitchener/) made four stops in the draw.

This afternoon, Waterloo was back in action on Warrior Field against McMaster.  Steph Roberts opened the scoring for her Marauders in the 31st minute but Hannah Rempel (Waterloo/) found the tying goal just five minutes later on an absolute beautiful strike from 25 yards out.

The two combatants played each other tight the rest of the way until Maila Carboni broke the hearts of the black and gold with a goal in the 89th minute to give McMaster the 2-1 win.

The loss was only the second of the season for Waterloo as they saw their record fall to 4-2-5.  With their 17 points, Waterloo sits in fourth in the OUA west just three back of Guelph and Laurier for second.

Waterloo has five games remaining on the schedule with their next contest on Friday at Laurier.  They then play their final road game at Windsor on October 14 before their final three games go at home on Warrior Field.
