The Waterloo men's rugby team made their last game of the season a memorable one, topping the Toronto Varsity Blues 28-15 on Sunday afternoon at the CIF lower field. Â
The Warriors were led by rookie flyhalf
Mitch Voralek (Waterloo) who punched in a try and added four converts for 13 points. Â Voralek, who was named Waterloo's male athlete of the week, finished the season with 64 points, the third most among OUA competitors.
Also chipping in on the offence was
Connor Bevington (Oakville/Oakville),
Aaron Goodridge (Waterloo/Waterloo), and
Paul Schroeder (New Dundee/New Dundee) who each added a single try to round out the Warrior attack.
The Warriors got stronger as the season went on and competed against some of the top OUA teams even with some of their top players out due to injury. Â If the young core of Warriors can stay together next season, the black and gold should continue to trend upwards in the tough OUA division.
