Box Score All good things come in threes right? Not exactly true for the Waterloo women's soccer team who picked up their fourth straight win topping the Algoma Thunderbirds 4-0 on Sunday afternoon in the Soo.
Waterloo defeated Algoma for the second straight day and improved to 4-6-1 in the process to move into fifth place in the OUA standings with 13 points on the season. The most impressive stat of their winning streak is that the Warriors haven't allowed a goal over the four game span.
Waterloo got an early goal in the match today with Krystna Brudnicki firing one home in the third minute. Brudnicki has been an effective part of Waterloo's offence since making the move from keeper to forward.
The Warriors added to their lead in the 26th minute as
Eleanor Pineau (Campbellville) potted her first in the 26th minute. Before the opening half ran out, the Warriors put up one more on the scoreboard as
Kaitlyn Unger (Ajax) netter her second of the season.
Melanie Mitchell (Glen Morris) added Waterloo's fourth goal in the 68th minute and
Kala Studens (Sault Ste. Marie) did the rest between the pipes to record her fourth straight shutout.
Waterloo will look to extend their winning streak to five next Friday when they host Western at Warrior Field. Kickoff is set for 2pm.
