Men's rugby lose third straight falling to Western 17-6

The Waterloo Warriors dropped their third straight game losing to the Western Mustangs by a score of 17-6 on a rainy Friday evening in Waterloo.  With the loss the Warriors fell to 1-3 on the season while the Mustangs remain perfect on the season with a 4-0 record.

The first half saw tentative play by both squads as both teams battled the elements.  Following a strong drive Western would take a 5-0 lead into the half.

The Mustangs continued their late first half play early in the second controlling ball possession and territory which would lead to two more second half tries.

Waterloo would cut into the lead late into the second half with two penalty goals but were unable to catch the team in purple and would fall by a score of 17-6.

Leading the way for the Mustangs was Mike Turbull (Oakville, Ont.) with one try and a convert for seven points.  Adding single tries were Sebastian Pearson (Lindsay, Ont.) and Andrew Crow (Victoria, BC.).

Centre Richard Lebel (Waterloo/) would contribute the only points for the Warriors with two penalty goals for six points.

Waterloo look to snap their three game losing streak in a week's time when they travel to Guelph to play the Gryphons at 8pm.
