Men's rugby shutout by McMaster 34-0

The Warriors faced tough competition on Sunday afternoon against the McMaster Marauders in Hamilton falling by a score of 34-0 making their record 1-1 on the season. 
The Warriors came out hard in the first half having several chances to get on the board first but were unsuccessful in their efforts.
As the game waged on the Marauders were able to find an opening as Cam Stones (Whitby, Ont.) would score first 15 minutes into the match. Following an unsuccessful convert by Andrew Ferguson (Mississauga, Ont.) the Marauders had a 5-0 lead.
McMaster would take a 12-0 lead off of a Ryan Fried (New Hamburg, Ont.) try and a successful convert by Ferguson.
The Warriors continued to struggle in the first half giving up two more tries by Marauders' Grant Schneider (Oakville, Ont.) and Michael Sheppard (Brampton, Ont.) as the black and gold trailed by 22 points at half time.

At the beginning of the second the Warriors yet again put on the pressure, only to have it subside when Lawson Mann (Stouffville, Ont.) of McMaster scored his first try of the game to give the team in maroon a 29-0 lead after a successful convert.
As the end of the game neared, McMaster would add one more try as Stones would add his second try of the game to give McMaster the 34-0 shutout victory over the Warriors.
Next up for Waterloo is a meeting with the Queen's Gaels on Friday, September 16 in Waterloo at the CIF fields. Game time is set for 5:00pm.
