The Warrior men's rugby team fell to their cross-town rivals Laurier Golden Hawks by a score of 15-14 on Friday night at Knight-Newbrough Field. 

Laurier's #14 Chris Grant (Barrie, Ont.) gave the Golden Hawks some much needed momentum with minutes left in the first half. Moments after Grant's sideline run, #8 Jeff Pickel (St. Marys, Ont.) carried the ball to a perfect position for #13 Jason Hubbell (Farncombe, ENG.) to score a try. The Hawks played a very defensive last few minutes of the half holding off the Warriors.

With roughly 20 minutes left in the second half, Hubbell made a solid run and at the last second handed the ball off to #15 Brenden Gilbert (Oakville, Ont.), who scored Laurier's second try of the game.

The Warriors were led by Zach Bogdon (Preston/) (Cambridge, Ont.) with nine points off of a try and two conversions while Matteo Schwartzentruber (Pembroke/) rounded out the Warriors attack with a single try.

The Warriors have next weekend off before they hope to re-group against the RMC Paladins on Saturday, October 22 in Kingston.
