Warriors keep playoff hopes alive with shutout victory over RMC

The Men's rugby team got back in the win column with a 19-0 shutout victory over the RMC Paladins on Saturday afternoon in Kingston to keep their playoff hopes alive.

A balanced attack and stellar defense gave Waterloo the victory as they improved to 2-5 on the season and sit in seventh place with 10 points, two points out of the sixth and final playoff spot.  RMC hold that final playoff spot with 12 points but have no games remaining in the season while Waterloo plays their final game of the season on Saturday, October 29 against Brock and will need a win to qualify.

Richard Lebel (Waterloo/), Matteo Schwartzentruber (Pembroke/) and Caleb Ashley (New Dundee/) scored single tries on the afternoon while Zach Bogdon (Preston/) added two converts to round out the Warrior attack.  The defense did the rest as Waterloo cruised to a 19-0 victory.

The Warriors will be looking for a victory over Brock on Saturday in order to move on to the post-season.  Game time is set for 1pm at the CIF fields.
