Marauders down Warriors on home field

After a solid first half performance, the Warriors fell to the ever so powerful McMaster Marauders 41-20 on Sunday afternoon at the Columbia Icefields.  The Warriors were unable to carry their first half momentum into the second and collapsed defensively as a team.

Scoring for the Warriors was Richard Lebel (Waterloo, Ont.) who had his fourth and fifth tries of the season and 10 points in the game.  Lebel sits second in OUA scoring with 31 points in three games.  Adding one try each was Ben Vandenberg (Centreville, Ont.) and Zach Bogdon of Cambridge.

Chris Dickenson (Oakville, Ont.) led the Marauder attack with two tries and ten points. First year Chris Gordon (Pickering, Ont.) followed with nine points from one try and two conversions. Ryan Fried (New Hamburg, Ont.), Tyler Ardron (Lakefield, Ont.), John Williams (Stoney Creek, Ont.) and Joel Fox (Etobicoke, Ont.) also muscled their way over the try line once each for McMaster while Andrew Ferguson (Mississauga, Ont.) slotted a conversion for the final two points.

The 2-1 Warriors host the Guelph Gryphons (1-2) as part of homecoming this Saturday, September 25 at the Columbia Icefields.  Game time is set for 3:00 pm.  The undefeated Marauders (3-0) travel to St. Catharines to take on OUA leading scorer Samuel Rimmer (Cheltenham, Ont.) and his Brock Badgers.
