The Warriors badminton team put together an outstanding week of action at the 2023 OUA Champioship hosted by TMU in Toronto. After dropping their fits match 7-3 to the York Lions Waterloo won five straight matches.

The Warriors defeated McMaster 6-4, Ontario Tech 10-0, the hosts TMU 9-1 in round robin play setting up a tie-breaker with the Ottawa Gee-Gees to move on to the medal round. In that match Waterloo easily got past the Gee-Gees by a score of 6-0, setting up a semifinal battle with the Western Mustangs.

Waterloo and Western went toe-to-toe in the semifinals but it was Waterloo who inched out the victory winning the tie-breaker to advance to the OUA Gold Medal Match. Unfortunately for the black and gold, they ran out of steam in the final match, dropping it 6-0 to the York Lions to settle for OUA silver. Congratulations to all Warriors on a very successful championship tournament and especially to Ashley Wong (Markham/) and Harry Soo who were both named OUA All-Stars.
