Warriors outlast Marauders in thrilling seesaw battle

The Warriors men's rugby team earned their fourth victory of the season in thrilling fashion over the visiting McMaster Marauders on Saturday afternoon on the lower CIF Field.

Waterloo led from start to finish, however McMaster made it a close battle throughout as the two teams exchanged tries down the stretch as the black and gold held on for the 36-33 win.

With the win, Waterloo improved to 4-1 and sit in a tie for second overall in the OUA standings with Guelph and Western. 

Stratton Windsor (Waterloo/) led the Warriors with two tries for 10 points while Zach Hyland (Wasaga Beach/), Noah Van Dam, Bryan Kushner (Burford/), and John Wegman (Guelph/) each punched in a single try. Josh Eustace (Brantford/) split the uprights twice for two converts, which proved important in the three point victory.

The Warriors will now turn their attention to Western who they battle next Saturday at 1pm in London with second place on the line.
