Move Your Mind

What is Move your Mind image

Move Your Mind aims to help students experience the physical, emotional, mental, and cognitive benefits of physical activity by helping to break down barriers preventing participation.

In this peer-to-peer program, participants are encouraged to get moving by finding something they really enjoy, and support is provided to navigate the opportunities available.

This program provides resources to encourage healthy living, support for accountability and motivation, and a sense of community where participants of all abilities and interest are welcomed.

How does move your mind work?

How Can I get involved?
Each participant's experience is tailored to their needs and goals. If you are interested in joining the Move Your Mind Community or would like to refer a student to participate in Move Your Mind, please fill out the form below.  Remember, the student should keep an eye on their junk/spam folder in case the email is sent there.

Volunteers
Student volunteers are needed to accompany these referred students to their on-campus recreation activity. Activities can include Intramurals, Shoe Tag classes, Instructional classes, Strength and Conditioning, open recreation, and clubs. Volunteers are responsible for dedicating a minimum of 6 hours per term and must complete the Warrior Recreation and Health Services sensitivity training prior to starting.

Volunteers will help a peer:
  • feel comfortable trying a new activity,
  • be motivated to continue,
  • and help him/her reach their goals.
If interested, please fill out our Workout Buddy Application form or reach out to the Coordinator by email at athcpwel@uwaterloo.ca for more information.
